Tornado Damage 11/30/16 – What you can do to help

Many areas in Tennessee and in the Southeast experienced storms last night. As the sun rises today and we begin doing assessments, we ask that you especially hold the people of Tullahoma and surrounding areas in your prayers as we know there is significant tornado damage there.

We have trained Early Response Teams in Tullahoma today working on clearing trees and debris. As needs are shared, additional Early Response Teams will be deployed. We will continue to share information with you as we obtain it.

Please do not self deploy, we know our hearts break for those who are hurting, but sometimes our helping can hurt.

Our conference office is well supplied with cleaning buckets and health kits that can be distributed. We could use a few more tarps – of any size – and furring strips. Please drop them by the conference office – call 615-695-2765 first, please so our disaster response staff can properly receive your items.

Please join us in prayer:

Almighty God, merciful Father, keep all of us and all who have been affected by natural disasters from despair and do not let our faith be destroyed by the hopelessness we encounter. Sustain and comfort us. Direct all our efforts to help our neighbors in need, console the bereaved, and protect the helpless. Deliver any who are still in danger and bring hope and healing that we may find relief and restoration. Through Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
