Tennessee Conference Sager Brown Team

A twenty-four-member mission team from the TN Conference worked at UMCOR Sager Brown during the first week of January 2020.  Another team of up to thirty-five members has been scheduled for January 10-15, 2021.

Most of the 2020 team members have been to Sager Brown multiple times.  Sager Brown is an amazing UMCOR site with many opportunities for service.  Team members work on hygiene kits, flood buckets, in the sewing room, building ramps and doing home repairs in the community, volunteering in various settings in the community, and helping with maintenance and office work on campus.  Team members often share that the work experience at Sager Brown is a spiritual retreat for them each year.

Donna Higginbotham, a retired local pastor from the TN Conference and one of our frequent team members was recently was trained as a long-term volunteer.  Donna will be serving this summer in Ketchikan, Alaska.  She will be available in the future to work as a long term volunteer at Sager Brown and other sites around the world as needed.

The mission work at Sager Brown is uniquely accommodating for people of all ages and ability levels.  It is an especially good mission site destination for first-time missioners.

There are openings for the 2021 team at this time.  You can reserve a place on that team by contacting Rev. Gary Wedgewood at gary.wedgewood@gmail.com or by phone or text at 615-390-2432.
