Getting to the Heart of Health Care: Coffee, Conversation & Congress

Over the past four years, you have worked diligently to make it possible for Tennesseans to access the affordable, high-quality health care that we all deserve. Genesis speaks of God bringing order out of the chaos. Now we need you to reach out to Congress and help them bring order out of this chaos by sharing the health care values that we United Methodists hold dear.

Our Senators Alexander and Corker are in a place to make sure that no one loses their health care and even more have access to affordable, high-quality care.  In Washington D.C., conversations are moving away from repeal and moving to repair and fix.  Senator Alexander has said: “The word ‘repair’ is a lot better than the word ‘repeal.’ . . . Saying we’re going to repair the damage is more accurate.”

How can you become part of the conversation?  Throw a party! United Methodists across Tennessee have brewed the coffee, cracked open the Girl Scout cookies and invited friends, families and neighbors to join the conversation and take action. You’ll learn how important it is for our Senators to hear from you through letter writing, phone calls and legislative visits.

We have lots of resources to help you get started.

As United Methodists, you can make a real difference. Our stories and the stories of people we love are what our members of Congress and state legislators want to hear. Everyone has a story and Everyone has a gift to bring to the table.

Check out the resources. Give us a call at 615.513.9170 or send us an email to church.society@tnumc.com. We’ll help you with whatever you need.

Let’s get this party rolling!
