Mission Workers Jun and Roela V. Rivera participated through their GraceNotes Creative Ministry in the Exhibits at the United Methodist Church General Conference in Portland, Oregon and will exhibit at the TNUMC Annual Conference in June.
Their participation at the General Conference was made possible with recommendation from Bishop Rodolfo Juan of the Manila Episcopal Area – Philippines Central Conference and with exhibit support from the Corporate Sponsorships Office of GCFA.
Their main mission in this Church World event is to share God’s love, grace and hope as well as to solicit support for their new Mission Project which is the addition and completion of the Prayer Room in the UMC Headquarters being presently renovated in Manila, Philippines. They displayed and used their GraceNotes inspirational items including Roela’s book, “Glimpses of Heaven: Lessons on Faith and Hope, Love and Joy” ©2014.
Since they organized their GraceNotes Creative Ministry in 2009, Jun and Roela have been travelling to witness and serve and have been involved in several mission projects in some places in the United States, in the Philippines, in Haiti and Uganda, in Mexico and Malawi — They are doing all these as their sacred covenant and thanksgiving offering to God for Roela’s new life after she had a near-death experience in 2002. When Roela became legally blind in 2004, it proved to be more a blessing than suffering for her.
Jun and Roela were invited to attend a special gathering of Filipino United Methodists including the Bishops, delegates and participants from the Philippines Annual Conference as well as from the United States Annual Conferences.
As partners in life and ministry, service and witness, Jun and Roela have kept firmly their faith and trust in God’s great provision and sufficient grace that make it possible for them to share God’s Word to many people in many places and to realize their Mission Projects! They also deeply appreciate the prayers and support from their family, many church members and friends.
Some of the GraceNotes Ministry completed mission projects among others include the realization of the Prayer Chapel at Hendersonville First UMC in Tennessee; the renovation of Sanctuary Altar at First Torrance UMC in California; the reconstruction of the pulpit and altar at Dagumbaan UMC in Bukidnon, Philippines after it was destroyed by typhoon and flash floods; and the Peace Garden Beautification at their home church, Central UMC, in Manila, Philippines. Two of their on-going Mission Projects include the construction of the Altar in the Tree of Life Chapel in La Puebla, Mexico and the addition of the Prayer Room in the UMC Building in Manila.
Finally, Jun and Roela request for your prayers for God’s travelling mercy and guidance in their Mission travels and in realizing their mission projects for God’s glory and honor and for the Church people! They do believe that “all these things are possible with God” (Matthew 19:26) “and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28)
