The Tennessee Conference is committed to equipping pastors and congregations to offering Jesus Christ to a hurting world, one neighborhood at a time. The mission fields of Middle Tennessee are ripe for harvest for new believers. These neighborhood and community also represent human need and hurt. Our congregations – nearly 600 of them – are the forward mission stations for the redeeming grace of Jesus Christ.
The Conference is further committed to increasing the capacity of our congregations to offer Christ and make disciples of him for the transformation of the world. Our district superintendents, assistants and conference staff are engaged in this challenge.
Congregations increase their capacity to engage the mission field and grow disciples in many ways: missional visioning, organizing to meet and befriend neighbors, learning about the community, focusing resources on engaging and discipling. The possibilities are endless to increase capacity.
Superintendents, their staffs and the staff members of Connectional Ministries are investing in congregations to “walk alongside” them in visioning and missional engagement. The Church Vitality Team provides a number of resources: missional facilitators, healthy congregations workshops, youth ministry initiatives, discipling systems, leader development, connecting neighbors (disaster response readiness) and more.
