Nashville Area BaSE Foundations Training

(Offered the last Friday of October, and the last Friday of April each year)
Tennessee Annual Conference Center (Nashville)

Nashville Episcopal Area Clergy of the United Methodist Church are required to complete BaSE (Boundaries and Sexual Ethics) training once per quadrennium.  This event is the foundational session for BaSE – required for first-time participants.  Refresher training for follow-up quadrenniums is offered separately.

Nashville Area Safe Sanctuaries Training

(Offered the last Saturday of October, and the last Saturday of April each year)

Nashville Episcopal Area Clergy of the United Methodist Church are required to complete Safe Sanctuaries training once per quadrennium.  This event is the foundational session for Safe Sanctuaries – required for first-time participants.  Refresher training for follow-up quadrenniums is offered separately.

Nashville Area Inclusiveness Training

(Offered the second Thursday of January, the second Saturday of April, the second Thursday of July, and the second Saturday of October)
Tennessee Annual Conference Center (Nashville)

In 2010, the Tennessee Conference adopted a policy requiring inclusiveness training in the areas of sexism and racism for all certified candidates and clergy. This seminar is provided by the Tennessee Conference Inclusiveness Committee and provides participants an opportunity to discuss assumptions about diversity while also identifying, creating, and practicing what it means to be an inclusive community. One CEU credit will be awarded to those who complete the seminar.

All clergy under appointment must complete Inclusiveness Seminar Training once per quadrennium.  Any clergy who completed Inclusiveness Seminar Training between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2016 must attend anytime between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2020.
