Remembering Who We Are – Word, Water, & Witness is the theme as clergy and lay members gather for the Tennessee Annual Conference on Wednesday through Friday, June 12 – 14, 2019, at Brentwood UMC in Brentwood, TN. The theme calls us to remember our identity as baptized Christians and the firm foundation becoming a disciple in the United Methodist church provides. The annual conference design team is hard at work preparing an event that will encourage members to connect with God and each other through worship, business, and the sharing of information.
The schedule will include inspiring worship and witness. The Commissioning, Licensing, and Ordination Service will be on Wednesday evening and a memorial service during the day on Friday. Members will accomplish important business that will include voting for 2020 General Conference delegates as well as discussions and voting around the creation of a New Conference and the business of General Conference.
All clergy and laity who were elected at charge conferences to represent their churches will receive appropriate voting credentials upon arrival at Brentwood in June. Between now and then, annual conference communications will go directly to that list. Please be sure correct emails are available so this information can reach the appropriate annual conference members! (Submit email address to your district administrator if it has changed or if it was not included on the charge conference form.)
Online reservations for meals will open later this spring. At that time, non-voting guests can apply to receive a name badge for the conference.
Several hotels are providing special conference rates for a limited time (see below). Onsite childcare will be provided for infants and preschoolers during annual conference sessions. Also, Cedar Crest Camp will host a day camp for elementary-aged students on site at Brentwood. Childcare and Day Camp sign-up details will be available online in the coming months.
Deadlines and links to information and applications are below for submitting reports, resolutions, and exhibitor collateral as well as to make a presentation or host a meal during the annual conference.
As more details are available, this page will be updated. The design team is looking forward to seeing clergy and lay members at our 2019 annual meeting!
