Below, Conference Lay Leader, Holly Neal, discusses ways the team hopes you will find true connection with others while at annual conference this June.
True connection with others
We have planned more time this year for interaction with one another during learning sessions and at meals. There also will be an opportunity to gather in our districts to share a meal together, to pray about our future, and to continue learning about making disciples around our table in focused conversations.
The Thursday evening district gatherings are for lay members of annual conference and all active clergy. The desired outcome for this event is for members of a district to claim their identity and fellowship as a district and view it as an anchor in the changing days ahead.
The Board of Laity are inviting members of the conference to share a meal together while having conversations, dreaming about and committing to what God is doing in their districts. Worship focused on prayerful discernment will follow dinner. The clergy will attend the district where they are projected to go in July.
Each District will meet at various locations at Brentwood UMC, depending on how many people register. Your location will be made available by check-in at Annual Conference.
