Annual Conference 2018

  June 13 – 15, 2018

Brentwood UMC  |  309 Franklin Road  |  Brentwood, TN 37027
 #TNAC18

The Annual Conference Design Team believes that when you attend the annual conference this year you will experience…

  • a true connection with others
  • powerful collective worship
  • inspiration and tools you need to make disciples in YOUR community.

At the conference, we are joining a movement called “See All The People,” moving toward organic, authentic and consistent relationships that intentionally make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Informal videos our team put together to provide you with more detail about opportunities that will be available this year:

Business of the conference

Ministry reports, resolutions, and other information for conducting the business of the conference are available below and in the new conference App.* You are encouraged to review these documents prior to arriving at annual conference, so you are prepared.

Please download the conference App (download Guidebook from your phone’s app store, use passphrase: TNAC2018) BEFORE coming to Annual Conference. All documents are embedded in the app so that your device doesn’t need the WIFI at BUMC to view them.

Members of annual conference will vote on several resolutions. Included in the voting is a resolution on the intent to create a new conference for our Episcopal Area, our financial budget, a plan to restructure Connectional Ministries, and a re-vote on a United Methodist Constitutional Amendment. Only those on the floor of the sanctuary with proper credentials may vote.

Our Thursday morning session will include a presentation by Julie Hager Love from the Commission on a Way Forward and from TNUMC delegates elected to attend and vote at General Conference.

Appointments will be set with a sending forth on Friday afternoon.

 Annual Conference 2018 Offering

This year’s Annual Conference offering goes to the Mama Lynn Center for Survivors of Sexual Violence. Based in Kindu, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Center (named after Lynn McAlilly) will help women physically, psychologically, spiritually and provide opportunities for economic empowerment.

California-Pacific, Memphis and Tennessee Annual Conferences are supporting the East Congo Episcopal Area in this effort that shines Christ’s light in a war-torn part of the world. Gifts to complete the building and begin programming are greatly needed.

Bring your gifts to Annual Conference or give online through PayPal.

Churches can submit donations by signing in to their electronic payments account.

Message from the Annual Conference Design Team

We hope this video message from Rev. Melinda Britt, Director of Connectional Ministries, will provide some helpful information as you begin to make plans to attend.

The team will be communicating with clergy and lay members of annual conference on a regular basis as we get closer to the conference, so please make sure your district office has your email address!
