Faithful and Inclusive: The Bible, Sexuality, and The United Methodist Church, a DVD video resource released this past fall, is now available at Cokesbury. This resource has sold over 900 copies nationally.

Many pastors and laity have expressed a desire for resources to help their congregation learn about and discuss the current issue of sexuality within our church. Many have said this resource was very helpful for pastors to begin the difficult conversation on sexuality and the church.

This unique series allows Individuals, discussion groups and congregations to gain an understanding of how United Methodists can be both obedient to God’s Word and fully welcoming to LGBTQ+ persons in the church. The resource is a six-session video series for participants to develop their own perspectives on the Bible’s passages related to homosexuality.

The Rev. Rob Fuquay, pastor of St. Luke’s UMC in Indianapolis, and author of several UMC resources, creates a safe space to navigate through this complex issue, relying on a Biblical-interpretation approach of Methodism’s founder, John Wesley. Each 50-minute video session also features the faith journeys of LGBTQ+ United Methodists through their own testimonies at the close of each session.
