WHAT: United Methodists from across the United States will gather online for the 2020 Online Creation Justice
Summit. In four sessions, leaders from across the country will guide participants through this meaningful training that
will equip and inspire action to build Creation Care ministries in their local churches and annual conferences and join
with others to build a movement for creation justice throughout the denomination. Attendees will be encouraged to
dream boldly of ways they can play a key role in healing the planet, dive deeper into advocacy and Green Team
development training, gather wisdom from speakers and other leaders, and gain strength and inspiration by
WHO: The 2020 UM Online Creation Justice Summit is developed to empower and equip United Methodist Creation
Care leaders and those interested in creation justice and advocacy. Keynote Speakers are Bee Morehead, Director
of Texas Impact and Texas Center for Interfaith Public Policy, and Rev. Michael Malcom, Executive Director of
Alabama Interfaith Power and Light and a United Church of Christ Minister.
WHERE: While this is the 13th year of this gathering, for the first time, the UM Creation Justice Summit will be held
online on Zoom. This is not only safer during the pandemic, but also makes the training more accessible. The Zoom
gathering can be accessed by computer or cell phone and the link will be emailed to registrants the week before the
WHY: The mission of the UM Creation Justice Movement is to connect and support groups within the United
Methodist Church and beyond for the work of creation care, justice and regeneration. Learn more at
