New President/CEO of Miriam’s Promise Starts a New Chapter

Nashville, TN, (July 1, 2019): J. Dietz Osborne is stepping into the role of President/CEO of Miriam’s Promise on July 1. He looks forward to providing a new leadership for pregnancy, parenting, and adoption services to the people of Middle Tennessee. For additional information about the nonprofit, to volunteer, or to donate, visit MiriamsPromise.org.

His charismatic personality, vision, attention to detail, and heart for others have allowed him to strategically prepare the organization for this transition. His first action as President/CEO was to create a fundraising campaign for the retiring Executive Director to raise $31,000 in honor of her 31 years of servant leadership for Miriam’s Promise. Debbie Robinson, the former Executive Director of Miriam’s Promise, retired on June 30. Her servant leadership and heart for those served by Miriam’s Promise will live on through the work now led by Osborne. Online donations made on her behalf are welcomed at MiriamsPromise.org.

Osborne has been committed to Miriam’s Promise and sees his journey as “an opportunity for training and passion to come together.” His initial volunteer experience was at the organization’s annual golf fundraiser which led to ten years of volunteer service for the organization. He was hired eight years ago and has worked in progressive roles including development and administration. In that time he was responsible for raising over $3.5 million dollars to support the services offered by Miriam’s Promise. Most recently he earned his Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governor’s University. “I pass this role to Dietz with great peace and with the knowledge the agency is in great shape and in very capable hands,” says former Executive Director Robinson. “Dietz will lead the agency to a new plateau of achievement and services.”

In strategizing this new chapter of Miriam’s Promise, Osborne will lead seven staff members and hundreds of volunteers to carry out the organizational mission and promise to nurture the well-being of the child by nurturing individuals and families. He says, “I am very excited and humbled that the Board of Directors has the faith in me and my abilities to lead this organization that I love. We have assembled one of the best staffs to carry out the work that was begun in 1985, and I look forward to collaborating with them as we create a vision for the future.” As President/CEO he will work in tandem with two key counselors on staff, Kim Warner-Hudy, LCSW, as Director of Program Services, and Charlsey Gibson, LMSW, Director of Program Development. Both have been counselors with Miriam’s Promise and were promoted into these strategic roles earlier this year.
