This year Vanderbilt Wesley launched with a leadership retreat where students gathered to share stories of summer adventures, pray with one another, write a covenant for the year, and plan for the semester. We also had a pool party and ate delicious food. Our students hit the ground running by hosting events to get the message out about our Wesley community. At Vandy Wesley, we desire to create a community that is intentionally diverse, radically welcoming, practices ways to connect with God and each other, and invites everyone to live out their unique gifts and strengths. We hosted a popsicle and glow-stick party on the first year student patio passed out snow cones on outside the main student center, and had a pancake art event where students created their own edible art! Our Wesley worship kicked off the first full week of class with double the number of students we had last year! Students developed the worship around the book of Philippians. After worship, we shared a meal and built new relationships. We are grateful for another amazing year at Vanderbilt.
