Certification in Specialized Ministry Renewal

Certification in a Specialized Ministry is The United Methodist Church’s recognition that an individual has been called, has made a commitment to serve and has fulfilled the required standards for academic training, experience, and continuing study to serve with excellence.

The continuing validity of certification is dependent upon a biennial review and renewal. This review/renewal is to be done in even years like this one.

If you are certified in a specialized ministry, please complete and return to the Office of Ministerial Concerns the form found at

https://www.gbhem.org/sites/default/files/documents/forms/form4004requestforbiennialreviewrenewal.pdf .

The deadline to complete this form is May 13.

If you choose not to submit the form, your record will be marked inactive and you would need to submit a letter requesting reinstatement. Additional course may be required.
