Mountain T.O.P. Offers Middle Schoolers Unique Mission Experience

Fish camp is a mission experience for rising 6th – rising 8th graders. Junior High youth will get a taste of combining acts of service with a place to explore their relationship with God in a supportive and loving Christian community.

On the worksites, youth are encouraged to engage in problem solving and work as a members of a team moving together to accomplish a hands-on task. The groups will work on minor home repair projects (yard work, painting, basic construction) at homes in our community. Youth are also encouraged to interact with families from different socio-economic backgrounds, often opening their eyes to issues of poverty within our nation for the first time.

Youth and adults will be divided into Youth Renewal Groups (YRGs) of 6-8 people. YRGs are determined based on gender, age, church, skill and experience. We do our best to create balanced teams in order for volunteers to meet new people and work together in the most efficient ways possible.

Throughout the day Mountain T.O.P. staff will lead devotionals, sharing, and worships that all connect back to the theme for the week. We do this to connect the work they are doing throughout the day back to the importance of showing Christ’s love in everything we do.
